Beer Review: ALLAGASH COOLSHIP RESURGAM

Beer Review: ALLAGASH COOLSHIP RESURGAM

The beer presents itself with a hazy pastel gold hue, adorned by a thin cap of white, setting the stage for what’s to come.

Aroma:

A subtle note of light tart funk greets the senses, hinting at the beer’s spontaneous nature.

Taste:

Delving into the flavor profile reveals a bitter metallic funk intertwined with nuances reminiscent of cactus cooler. The journey concludes with a tart finish, leaving a distinct imprint on the palate.

Mouthfeel:

The texture is notably chalky, accompanied by a modest level of carbonation that contributes to the overall drinking experience.

Overall:

While undeniably tasty and possessing a commendable tartness, Allagash Coolship Resurgam falls slightly short when compared to its counterpart, Coolship Red. The latter, in my experience, stands as one of the finest American Sours, showcasing a superior level of complexity and satisfaction. Coolship Resurgam, while enjoyable, doesn’t quite reach the pinnacle set by its acclaimed counterpart.
